Banyan Tree Private Collection To Add Kyoto

Date: January 24, 2009

Described as "the first asset-backed destination club in Asia offering perpetual and transferable membership," Banyan Tree Private Collection is preparing to add a new luxury villa in Kyoto, Japan to their portfolio of two bedroom residences around the globe.

"In March, we will be introducing yet another one of these unique locations: Kyoto," wrote Banyan Tree Private Collection's Marina Kleiman. "At the heart of traditional Japan, walk in the land of geishas, join in a time-honored tea ceremony, or rest in the shade of thousand-year old Buddhist temples; Kyoto is an alluringly mystical city."

Once the former capital of Japan, Kyoto blends a sense of modern luxuries with storied culture. Spared from bombings in World War II, 2,000 Buddhist temples, Shinto shrines, palaces, gardens, and architecture remain preserved. Known for its cuisine, many vegetables grow specifically in the Kyoto region.

The new Kyoto residence is scheduled to become available in March.

The destination club has planned to add additional residences to their portfolio, currently including:

  • Japan
  • Hong Kong
  • Singapore
  • Thailand
  • China
  • Indonesia
  • Seychelles
  • United Kingdom

With their focus on the Asian and European regions and with no properties in the United States, Banyan Tree Private Collection isn't designed for the American audience specifically, but more for world travelers. If you are interested in membership with Banyan Tree Private Collection, a one year trial membership plan is available that provides 14 nights of access to the club's collection of luxury villas.
