Abercrombie & Kent Residence Club and Sentient Jet Partner

The destination club and fractional jet industries have both shared many similarities, catering to the affluent looking to travel on both business and pleasure in style. The Abercrombie & Kent Residence Club and Sentient Jet are offering travelers the ability to combine the two in a new package that provides 10 nights of travel within the Abercrombie & Kent Residence Club portfolio and a $50,000 Sentient Jet Membership Plus Card for just $55,000 until July 31, 2010.

Travelers are able to use their 10 nights of usage up until July 31, 2011, with all properties except for New York, Kiawah, and the European hotels and villas available. Following their 10 nights of access, vacationers can elect to upgrade to become a full Equity Member with the club and have $8,000 applied to their purchase.

Three different private jets are available to these Sentient Jet Membership Cardholders, including:

• Citation Excel
• Citation X
• Hawker 400XP

On an hourly basis, cardholders save roughly 10-15% from fractional jet ownership programs and 10% from booking through other channels. With as little as 10 hours notice, cardholders can have their jet waiting with guaranteed availability 365 days per year. Those looking to purchase this combined package have two years from the date of purchase to use their jet hours.

New to the Abercrombie & Kent Residence Club, similar programs have been seen throughout the destination club sector. Late last year, new Bombardier Skyjet cardholders received a free five night stay at any Ultimate Escapes Signature Club property as part of their relationship. Exclusive Resorts established an alliance with MarquisJet early in their career which would inadvertently lead to the creation of the now defunct One Key World, a destination club created by MarquisJet executive Jay Sapovits who wished to combine elements of the fractional jet model to the destination club concept.

While July 31 may be an important date for those looking to take advantage of this new program, the beginning of the month is circled on the calendar for those looking at the destination club. Earlier this year, Abercrombie & Kent announced that they would extend current pricing, letting new members save 40% on full Equity Memberships.
