Abercrombie & Kent Residence Club Modifies Membership Plans

The Abercrombie & Kent Residence Club has made a number of changes to their membership plans, including moderate increases for membership deposits, the creation of a 60 day membership plan, and most noticeably, a sizeable reduction in annual dues.

Abercrombie & Kent Residence Club Los CabosMemberships are now available starting at $175,000 with annual dues for as little as $715 on a per night basis. The new "Universal Plus" membership provides 60 nights of annual access to the club's portfolio, allowing up to 11 advanced reservations.

Late in 2009, the Abercrombie & Kent Residence Club reduced their membership plans by 40%, bringing their capital contributions in line with the current state of the real estate market. As the housing market is beginning to show signs of life, it looks as if their plans are following suit and expansion is in the works.

We reached out to Abercrombie & Kent and spoke to destination club industry veteran Mike Shelton, who has been recently engaged with overseeing the club's growth process. We are sitting down with Shelton later this week in Denver while he is attending YPO to learn more about the details of these changes as well as several other initiatives in the works. He committed to providing us with the details of each plan, an update on their growth efforts including their success in re-enrolling prior members of Private Retreats and Distinctive Retreats as well as the revised Abercrombie & Kent travel offerings and benefits that each member is entitled to. We look forward to reporting back to you next week with more information and their agenda for the upcoming member call scheduled for early in March.

Check back soon for more information and please feel free to discuss your thoughts on the Abercrombie & Kent Residence Club on our new Destination Club Forum.
