My Stones Collection
Created in April of 2007, France's first destination club comes in the form of My Stones Collection, "a destination club for Europeans."
A spin on the traditional destination club model, My Stones Collection members have the option to join for one year and subsequently, if they enjoy the My Stones Collection concept, can continue with the club by participating in the financing of the club's real estate. Unlike the majority of American based destination clubs, the European destination club model widely functions around the ownership of the club properties.
The club works on a points based system where the cost to access each property is determined by the season, higher demand seasons requiring more points. This continues to be a growingly popular structure within the destination club industry, with clubs such as Ritz-Carlton Destination Club and The Discovery Club.
Founded by David Monroe and François d'Hauthuille, two former Club Med employees who also Co-Founded Core Stones Development Partners, the pair have ambitious goals for the young club. Joing Monroe and d'Hauthuille are hospitality experts who have served at Ritz-Carlton, Intrawest, Walt Disney, and several others. Over the next five to seven years, My Stones hopes to add 1,000 members with a focus in the European market.
This European focus greatly factors into the club's real estate acquisitions as the club currently has properties in Greece and France and starting to explore Africa and the Pacific and Indian Ocean regions. In the long term, plans to expand throughout Europe into Italy, Spain, and Austria and eventually cross the pond into the USA with homes in Miami and New York.
The European destination club market continues to grow as My Stones Collection competes against other leading clubs The Hideaways Club and The Oyster Circle.
