The Markers Club Press Releases
When The Markers Club launched in July of 2005, they labeled themselves as "the first and only residence club created exclusively for the golf purist." Years after their launch, the club still holds the title as other destination clubs in the industry offer a much more broad collection of vacation properties or have chosen other niche audiences, such as Moncasa Private Club Residences and their beach focus or Destination Cellars and their dedication to the luxury wine experience.
"When we created The Markers, our goal was to provide an incomparable private membership experience," said Mitch Brinton, one of the club's Founders. "These experiences are crafted from our own golf fantasies and we are thrilled to be able to offer them to other golf fanatics."
From the time of their launch up until early 2009, The Markers Club functioned nearly identical to virtually all other destination clubs. Members paid a refundable membership deposit to join the club and annual dues for every year they remained a member. With the real estate and financial markets in turmoil for much of 2008 and 2009, many leading destination clubs were forced into bankruptcy. The Markers restructured their business model, where the club would no longer charge an up front and refundable membership deposit, but rather a yearly membership fee. Members could elect to renew or resign their membership after each year of members.
