Due in part to a launch portfolio of luxurious properties that rivaled many of the more established destination clubs in the industry, an unlimited annual travel component, and the name recognition and benefits of The Leading Hotels of the World, The Leading Residences of the World got off to a quick start in the highly competitive destination club sector.

Launched in July of 2005, the club quickly sold out of their Charter Membership offer but new membership sales would stall to the point that the club would pull down their public website and replace it with a member's only log in page.

By December of 2006, The Leading Residences of the World would merge with Quintess to form the club as it is currently constituted as Quintess, The Leading Residences of the World.

More than 95% of The Leading Residences of the World members would remain with the new club, who had also just merged with fellow leading club Dream Catcher Retreats just months before the LRW merger.

Today, Quintess remains one of the largest destination clubs in the industry in terms of both members and properties.
