Leading Residences of the World was the product of The Leading Hotels of the World, Cendant Corporation, and HDMD, with each contributing their own experience and executives to help form the new club's executive team and Board of Directors.

The young destination club saw a great deal of success early in their tenure, quickly selling out of their Charter Memberships and just a year and a half after their launch, they had merged with Quintess to form Quintess, The Leading Residences of the World.

Quintess remains one of the largest destination clubs in the sector in terms of both members and properties.
