Leading Residences of the World

Founded by an alliance of The Leading Hotels of the World, a leading hotel and resort hospitality organization; Cendant Corporation, a Fortune 500 travel and real estate firm; and HDMD, LLC, a company formed by the principals of Destination Club Partners, LLC, The Leading Residences of the World's diverse experience was highly praised during the club's launch in July of 2005.

"While most of today's destination clubs boast of varying levels of service and product, not one has entered the industry with The Leading Residences of the World's imposing credentials: a pedigree dating back nearly eight decades; the financial resources of a Fortune 200 company; and a global network of prestigious properties, destinations, amenities and travel partners," said The Leading Hotels of the World's President and CEO Paul McManus.

Leading Residences of the World's launch included a substantial portofolio of properties including Cabo San Lucas, Kiawah Island, London, and New York amongst others. In total, The Leading Residences of the World's portfolio of over 20 launch properties were more than many other already established clubs.

In addition to the bullish launch portfolio of properties, club members enjoyed special privileges to over 400 hotels and resorts as part of the Leading Hotels of the World. The club offered various member focused benefits including unlimited travel, subject to reservation policies. The policy that most generated interest was an insurance policy for membership deposits, a first in the industry. The club's resignation policy allowed for members to receive 80% of their membership deposit once the club acquired four new members or one year from the member's notice to resign, whichever came first. The membership deposit was backed by an insurance policy underwritten by an A.M Best "A"-rated insurance company.

In December of 2006, Quintess, a leading destination club that had just merged with Dream Catcher Retreats to form Quintess, Catch The Dream, entered into a long-term partnership with The Leading Hotels of the World and absorbed The Leading Residences of the World into the club. Now known as Quintess, The Leading Residences of the World, the collected three firms now consisted of nearly 300 members and 49 residences. Over 95% of The Leading Residences of the World elected to remain with the new collected club.

In January of 2009, Quintess entered into yet another significant partnership with The Oyster Circle, a leading European destination club that greatly increased the international options for members. Quintess has repeatedly been recognized by Robb Report as a Best of the Best winner.
