Often called a Membership Deposit, this is the one-time membership fee that a member pays to join the club. Most destination clubs repay a portion, or all, of this fee once the member resigns their membership. A growing number of clubs now offer membership plans where the member can redeem their membership for more than the original membership fee paid to join. Called "Future Value" or "Then Present Value" memberships, the Redemption Value is a percentage of the value of the membership when the member resigns rather than a percentage of the membership deposit paid to join.
