Fractional Ownership
A growing section of the real estate industry where two, and often many more, individuals share ownership of a property. Instead of solely carrying the burden of maintenance, taxes, and home owner’s fees, these costs are shared by each of the owners. As such, owners also share in the availability of the residence, typically by having each owner have a set number of nights during a set period of time each year.
This type of ownership is best suited for individuals who have trips planned far in advance and enjoy returning to the same residence year after year.
Destination clubs are an outgrowth of the fractional ownership concept, where members have access to multiple vacation homes, but typically not the ownership. If you would like to compare fractional ownership to destination clubs, request a free copy of our Destination Club Guide.
