On the fringe of the destination club sector, Destination Cellars provides members luxurious travel options and services, but without owning a collection of vacation properties. Instead, the club caters to "wine, food, and travel enthusiasts" and gives them access to the most storied winery partners in the world.

"Founded in 2006, Destination Cellars is the first and only luxury wine club that offers wine, food and travel enthusiasts exclusive and personalized access to prestigious wineries and experiences at more than 100 wineries around the world," the club writes. "We accomplish this by combining membership exclusivity with the top names in the wine and travel business. We offer our members access and exclusivity."

"We have cultivated an exclusive network of winery partners from boutique producers to centuries-old wineries that typically have veryvlimited production and oftentimes limit their distribution of wines to just a handful of restaurants so they are unavailable to the typical consumer, but not to our members."

While most destination clubs gauge access by the number of nights available each year, Destination Cellars counts "experiences." According to club Founder David Keuhner, "An experience is defined as whatever happens in the 'four walls' of the winery. For example, it could be cooking lessons with a lunch or dinner in the wine cellar."
