Created by J. Joseph Ricketts, the former CEO and Chairman of Ameritrade, Ciel started with a strong financial backer for their ultra-luxury club.

Unfortunately, Ciel's offering never took hold as the Solstice Collection already had established themselves at the top of the luxury segment. During their brief time in the industry, Ciel did introduce several new elements to the destination club sector, including an intriguing resignation policy. Those policies and structures were largely created by the Ciel Executive team.
