Alpine River Club Members
Much like the traditional destination club model where the club acquires a new home once a predetermined amount of new members join the club, Alpine River Club acquires a new "beat" for members.
According to the club, a beat is defined as "a section of stream that is large enough to support two anglers fishing for an entire eight-hour day." Beats can be as long as a mile if on a small tributary run or as short as a few hundred yards if on a large stream, but traditionally averages to about three beats per mile.
The fishing focused membership club released their "minimum goals" when they launched, with aggresive benchmarks set for both new memberships, and subsequently, new beats available to those members.
By the end of 2010, the club plans to have nearly 300 members with just under 60 beats available to them. The five member to one beat ratio is what the club models for their acces.
According to the club, "The Founders Program was a great success and we have filled our Founders Roster."
