Resignation and Redemption

Abundant Life has some of the strangest resignation and redemption policies that the destination club industry has seen. Like other destination clubs, members must remain within the club for two years before resignation is allowed, but the amount that is repaid to members is wildly different from more traditional destination club models.

Instead of having a set percentage of the membership deposit that will be refunded to the exiting member, each plan has a predetermined amount that will be returned.

Family Plan

Within the first Family Plan membership are three different options of one, two, and four weeks of annual travel.

The one week membership option requires a $50,000 membership deposit and refunds $10,000 if the member elects to exit the club, or 20% of the membership deposit.

The two week membership requires an $85,000 membership deposit and refunds $35,000 if a member elects to leave the club, a return of just over 41% of the original deposit.

The four week plan within this Family Plan costs $125,000 to join and $50,000 are refunded to the member if they wish to exit the club, a return of 40% of the original membership deposit.

Family Plan II

Like the original Family Plan, Abundant Life's Family Plan II has options for one, two, and four weeks of travel at a slightly higher price point.

The one week membership plan within the Family Plan II structure can be purchased for $75,000. If and when a member elects to exit the club, they will be refunded $30,000 of their original deposit, or roughly 47% of their deposit.

The two week option requires a capital contribution of $110,000 and refunds $55,000 upon resignation, a return of 50% of the orginal deposit.

Similarly, the four week plan demands a $150,000 membership deposit to join and refunds $75,000 when the member resigns, or 50% of the original contribution.

Corporate/Elite Plan

The Corporate/Elite Membership Plan repays members the highest percentage when they elect to exit, but also has the highest annual dues. The Corporate/Elite Plan costs $250,000 to join and once the member elects to exit, $165,000 is refunded to them, 66% of their original deposit.

Abundant Life Vacation Club seems to be the only club in the destination club structure with this type of resignation policy.
